A beagle and a vet visit

Poor Buddy was the reply to a text I sent hubby.  Yep, poor Buddy.  All he does is look at me with those huge eyes and soft floppy ears, his whole body shaking, and I immediately know what's wrong.  I think Bandit hurt his back again was the text I sent that day.  He had done this before.  We aren't really sure what exactly happens, but he ends up tweaking his back from time to time.  Maybe it's the stairs into our house.  Maybe it's the sofa that we coax him on to snuggle and watch tv.  Maybe its the higher than average bed that he has no problems jumping on to curl up and share our pillows.  Or maybe it's all of it.

I immediately put him on "bed rest" in his kennel and administered the medicines he had from the last time.  Muscle relaxers and pain suppressants.  He rested.

He seemed to feel better after resting, but we all know that back problems don't just go away.  I still carried him down the stairs, and picked him up to lay with me on the sofa.  He was still banished to the kennel for sleeping.  After continuing the meds for a few days and sleeping in the kennel for a couple of nights, he thought he was super dog and ran so fast to jump on the sofa that superman himself didn't have time to stop him.  Then the look.  He did it again.  Shaking like he was in a blizzard in Antarctica.  I told you not to jump, I told him.

Then came the vet visit.  He was the calmest he's ever been in a place where he knows he's going to get shots.  Like a child that cries when they walk into a doctor's office. Maybe it's the smell. A conditioned response. Pavlov's dog. Yet somehow he seemed to know this was the place to make him better.

Some new meds, a few injections, and 1 teeth cleaning later, he's back on bed rest and too out of it to care.  He's finally getting some much needed relaxing to help heal his back.  And did I mention that one of the meds makes him SMELL?!

Now crashed in his kennel after some pain meds for his back. If only you could smell what I'm smelling! The meds make him smell HORRIBLE! "oysters" is how the vet described it. Bleh!

  1. For example, if a slot game payout proportion is ninety eight.20%, the casino will on common pay out $98.20 for every $100 https://thekingofdealer.com/solaire-casino/ wagered. Playing slot machines for 1 coin allows payouts only on the middle line. Playing for 2 cash allows payouts on all three horizontal strains.
