Jaydon Avalon /// 8 months

Where has the time gone? Jaydon Avalon is almost 9 months -- and I haven't blogged 7 or 8 months yet!

He's pulling himself to standing and crawling like he's racing the Indy 500!! 

We pass this gorgeous field almost every day (and I dream of a bride in a gorgeous wedding dress standing in the middle of it). 

Jaydon was more interested in a patch of clover :)

Jaydon Avalon /// 6 months

Has it really been 6 months? I sit here, sipping my eggnog tea, listening to the sounds of the fish tank and a sleeping 6 month old, thinking back on the day we found out we were going to be having a baby.

It doesn't seem that long ago. At all.

Time passes way to quickly. We have the memories (photographs, videos, thoughts) of how we arrived here. At this very moment. Sipping tea.

Everything we experience shapes us and molds us into who we are today. Those hugs from your favorite Aunt as a child. Your school homework that you stayed up late to finish. Playing outside with the dog.

Everything.

Jaydon is just beginning his journey. It's so amazing to watch him grow. Seems like there's something new and exciting every day.

He still only has his two bottom teeth. He sits up unassisted very well. No crawling yet, but plenty of rolling over. Lots of babbling, laughing, and smiles!

Jaydon Avalon /// 5 months

5 months! Time is going by crazy fast!

He cut his two bottom teeth a few weeks ago. Had his first Thanksgiving. Started sitting up in his rock and play. And still babbling away!

We also took our Christmas card photos... that was... well... as Brandon put it - like herding cats! To get all three of them to look at the same time was a workout in itself! Haha!

Jaydon Avalon /// 4 months

4 months already?! Can you believe it? It seems like the time is flying by.

He's been babbling away. Blowing raspberries. Giggling. And lights up when he sees the dogs. It's pretty cute to watch!

He was also Baptized!!

  

Jaydon had some pretty awesome hair afterwards!

We think it's pretty funny that they spelled his last name wrong. We get that often!

Starting him out early hah!

We have found the greatest friends in Matt and Jennifer. We could not have asked for better Godparents for Jaydon!! He wore the cutest outfit - handmade by his Great Aunt Laurie! (Complete with a bowtie, of course!)

Jaydon Avalon /// birth

I've been told your water doesn't really break like they show in the movies. That it's much less dramatic.
While this may be true for some, it wasn't for me. It was a very dramatic jumping up from bed and running to the bathroom in a panic moment. All at 2:30am.

I hadn't been having contractions up to that point. I decided to take it easy. Take a shower. Have a peanut butter sandwich. Actually pack a hospital bag....

We didn't even have the car seat strapped into the car (but at least we had one!).

Molly kept trying to get into the bag I was packing. Usually she runs away and hides when I put on shoes. Not today. She knew something was up. It was a little surreal knowing the next time I'd be back in this house, I'd have a baby in my arms.

We arrived at the hospital around 4:30am. By then I was having mild contractions (sometimes I only knew because the monitor said so).

As the morning progressed, so did my contractions. I heard the nurse call for my doctor. It was time.

I only actually pushed for about 20 minutes (even though, to me, it felt like an eternity). He was born at 1:03pm. 7 lbs 4.2 oz and 20.5 inches long.

Jaydon Avalon.

Absolutely perfect.

(No really, he got a 10 on his Apgar).

Brandon was amazing. He not only took photos that we will cherish for the rest of our lives, but was my support through the whole thing. I couldn't ask for a better husband :)

Our little Batman is 1 week old today! The 4th of July -- his due date :) He was born the day before my Grandparents Anniversary, on June 27.
