Candice - Avery Island Bridals

There's something so beautiful about the way a bride looks in her wedding dress. The twinkle in her eye, knowing she'll soon be married to the love of her life. The way her inner beauty shines so radiantly. It just melts my heart!

Bridal sessions are some of my favorite sessions for these reasons!! I mean, just look at Candice - how gorgeous is she?!!

She's a married woman now!
Here's a peek into our session at the Avery Island Jungle Gardens.

Chelsie - Avery Island Bridals

Rain.
The forecast for the whole weekend (and pretty much the entire week). Louisiana summers tend to have afternoon showers, but this was different. This was days and days worth of rain.
With the rain, comes gorgeous light.

We stayed under the covered Acadian style welcome center, and Chelsie even braved the rain like a champ and we were able to get some stunning images.
Have a look for yourself!!

Mary -- Avery Island Bridals

She was a princess.

Absolutely gorgeous from the inside out.

We spent the afternoon at Avery Island Jungle Gardens.
Enjoying the weather. Admiring her dress. Her beauty.

This gorgeous girl is now a married woman!

I love how she incorporated so many personal touches!
Hunter's reaction when he saw the photos was priceless :)

Mary, you're absolutely stunning!
Hunter, you snagged a keeper for sure!

More of these two lovelies to come! Keep an eye out for their Wedding Day.

Chelsie and Chad -- Avery Island Engagements

The alligators were out sunbathing, and so were the mosquitoes.

These two didn't let it phase them one bit!
(aside from the occasional mosquito swatting!)

We spent a gorgeous afternoon at the Avery Island Jungle Gardens.

Between the laughter,
and me thinking I was going to be eaten by a gator,
we captured some gorgeous photos!

These two are just so darn cute together! The smiles they pull out of each other are to die for!

Here's a peek at the awesomeness that transpired --

Everyone loves a good shoe shot :)

 Chelsie, you're gorgeous! Just stop!

Thank you, Chelsie and Chad, (and mom!) for braving the mosquitoes and alligators!
I really do have the best couples EVER!!

I can't wait for the wedding!!!

Leslie -- Avery Island Bridals

I am so excited to finally be able to share Leslie's bridals! I have been keeping them secret for far too long!

Leslie and Gaven were wed at a gorgeous ceremony on December 31, 2011... but more on that later! For now, enjoy these photos from our visit down to the Avery Island Jungle Gardens.

This time, the alligators were scarce. The mosquitoes, however, were EVERYWHERE! They didn't seem to put a damper on Leslie's spirits though. She has such a beautiful smile!

Ok, seriously? The Beautiful Gene must run in this family! (You should see their mom! GORGEOUS!)

Thank you for sharing your day with me! I think we laughed throughout the entire shoot!

Stay tuned for the Wedding Day photos!!

30 Days of Thanksgiving

Showiteers.

Think of Lady Gaga's Little Monsters.
But awesomer.
(yep, made that word up).
 And David Jay as Gaga.
With the Showit Studs to complete the production.
(yes, they are that amazing).

Ever since I became a showiteer, I've grown.
 As an artist.
 As a photographer.
 As a person.

This group continues to inspire me daily.

I've "met" some truly inspiring people.
One day, I will actually meet them.
And hug their faces off.

David Jay has issued a challenge to us.
He calls it "30DOT"

I have accepted the challenge.
However late.
(3 days isn't too bad, right?)

So here's my start.
Day 1: I am thankful for David Jay and his awesomeness. How he pushes the showiteers to be better. Better artists. Better people. Thank you for challenging me.
Day 2: I am thankful for my Showit family. Showiteers. The knowledge and caring shared within this group of people is nothing less than amazing. I may be one of the 'new kids' but they have accepted me as if I've been there all along.
Day 3: I am thankful for Brandon. My husband. My best friend. My rock. Who pushes me to pursue my dreams and doesn't let me settle for anything less than amazing. Thank you for always being at my side and taking this creative journey with me.

And because every post is better with pictures, here's some from last weekend. We went to the range and shot guns. And pictures. :)

My target. I think I got worse as the day progressed. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?

Avery Island Engagement Sneak Peek

I spent an afternoon at the Avery Island Jungle Gardens with Karen and Jason this weekend. THE cutest couple ever! I didn't think the mosquitoes would be so bad, considering the cold snaps we'd been having. I'm surprised none of them made off with any camera equipment!

Didn't see any alligators this time either. Maybe they were hiding from the mosquitoes. (or got carried off by them!)

Here's a little sneak peek of the amazingness that is Karen and Jason!! (yeah, I make up words. I'm ok with that.) Can't wait to share more!

I hope you guys aren't covered in mosquito bites!

Brittany -- Avery Island Bridals

Maybe we should think about other areas to go... she said.  The "2011 Flood" seemed to be putting a damper on our plans.  The original location was St. Francisville. (where we shot their engagements)  A beautiful antebellum town that sits on the Mississippi River.  An extremely swollen Mississippi River. I'd always wanted to do a bridal shoot at Avery Island, and she was happy to indulge my fantasy.

It was hot. HOT. I tell you!  But Brittany braved the heat with me in her gorgeous wedding dress.  Justin is one lucky man! I mean, how completely beautiful is she??!!

Hair by the ever fabulous, Hair By Lainey.

Grasses rustling. Water splashing.  There were alligators all around us!  Luckily, they never got too close to us (or us to them!)

Brittany, you are so gorgeous, inside and out.  I wish you and Justin many, many years of wedded bliss!

*Remember the St. Francisville Ferry I mentioned in Justin and Brittany's Engagement Shoot?  Well, the St. Francisville BRIDGE is now open!  A joyous, yet sad, occasion.  The Ferry was shut down in May of this year when the Bridge was opened.  I will forever miss the St. Francisville Ferry!
