Fallene and Trent -- Downtown Baton Rouge Engagements

College.
Time for new beginnings and fresh starts.
They were ready to conquer the world.

Then he saw her.

Ever the jokester, he threw pieces of paper at her in class.

Paper that started a friendship and grew into something more.
The way he makes her smile, GORGEOUS!
She radiates beauty when he's around.

I had the pleasure of spending the day with them for an engagement session.
We spent the afternoon in Downtown Baton Rouge.
Laughing.
Having fun.
I caught glimpses of the jokester.
(don't let her fool you, it goes both ways!)

I wish you both many years of happiness! I look forward to capturing your special day!!

Squirrels, Concerts, and a Sneak Peek

We walked the Capitol grounds. Snapping pictures of squirrels. Roses. Each other. Just enjoying the weather.

That night was the Big Bad Voodoo Daddy concert. I was completely and utterly starstruck when they walked on stage. Seriously. Like a tween at a Justin Bieber concert. I think I even squealed once or twice.

The whole time I kept thinking how much my Grandfather (Fathers) would have loved it. He always enjoyed when I would share my music with him. I think there was an empty seat beside me for a reason.

Between us walking around and the concert, we shared the afternoon with the cutest couple! I can't wait for their wedding! Here's a little sneak peek of the gorgeousness....

And if you haven't checked out Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, you should.
Seriously.

Rain, Rain, Go Away -- Louisiana State Capital Gardens

Rain.  The forecast for the day.  On the extended forecast, it was the only day with thunder clouds on the picture.

The phone rang.  We moved up the time we were meeting.  Hopefully to avoid the rain storms.

As I drove into Downtown, the light was GORGEOUS!  The sun came out between passing clouds.  All those prayers and rain dances paid off.  In the back of my mind, I was thinking I missed the rain clouds and wanted more.  A nice overcast day can be an amazing picture day.

Much to our joy, the rain held off.  Two of the most adorable children were enjoying the gardens of the Louisiana State Capitol as I clicked away.  The light was still gorgeous in the shade, even with the sun.

This little guy wasn't really sure what to make of being sat down in the grass.  He's such a cutie though!  Oh. Those. Eyes!

Always the ham, and ever entertaining, this little girl kept me laughing :)  I mean, how adorable is she?!

I enjoyed the day with two of the most gorgeous kiddos, and two of the most amazing parents!  Thank you for allowing me into your world for a day.

Amber -- Baton Rouge Bridal Photography

I love downtown Baton Rouge.  The buildings.  The streets.  The sounds.  The river.  I was so excited when Amber chose to do her bridals downtown.  I had been thinking of how a gorgeous wedding gown would look in the gardens of the Capital grounds ever since I photographed Amber and Donny's engagements there.

The Baton Rouge State Capital building and it's surrounding gardens were a gorgeous backdrop for such an amazing bride!

Loving the shoes!  They are her 'something blue'.
And her dress, GORGEOUS!!

You would never know it by the pictures, but it was sprinkling on and off all day.  Despite the weather, Amber rocked it out and we had an amazing day!
